Very good condition oversized (folio, 13 inches tall) glossy color illustrated boards. A 1/4 inch of the upper spine edge thin clear glassine-like covering is worn away and a thin section along the rear upper spine has somewhat loosened from the rear board, otherwise the volume is in fine conditon. All pages are in fine unmarked condition and the spine is tight and square. Profusely illustrated with color drawings and color illustrated front and rear endpapers by Harry McNaught, Research Associate at the Chicago Natural History Museum. "This encyclopedial of scientific fact is bursting with over 450 colorful pictures of mountains, stars, clouds, machines, birds, fruits, vegetables, fish and rocks. Its range includes all the plants and creatures of the natural kingdom, the heavens, the strata of the earth, weather, fossils, and the depths of the sea.
