Illustrated. 194 pages. The All- England Series, third printing. Originally printed in 1896. (Note: Donovan writes "In 1897 an imprint states (incorrectly) first published in January 1897.") A book for beginners by this notable player and historian. Interesting to note that an 1890's "set" consisted of six iron headed clubs and seven wooden headed clubs. Typical offset from pastedowns. Beautiful blue cloth covered copy. No former owner name or bookplate, no notations, underlining, marginalia, soiling, creases, tears, etc.
