Grade 1-3-This third book about the famous sisters is just as funny and original as the other two. The Gollys, a singing, dancing team, travel all over the West in their covered wagon, entertaining the residents of different towns. Truesdell's bright watercolors depict the silly duo as they try to rid themselves of a bad-luck goat in the audience, journey to see a magic talking rock, and have other adventures. The easy-to-read stories are great fun and will involve children, but there is also a warmth and feeling of love between these siblings that permeates the book. When May-May and Rose hide together under their bed, sing so they won't hear the thunder, and close their eyes so they can't see the lightning, readers get a glimpse into their special, close relationship.
