Sean O'Shea, owner and founder of The Good Dog Training and Rehabilitation is a world-renowned dog trainer, best known for his celebrated work with troubled dogs and owners. Sean's been featured on CBS This Morning, Fox News, The Hollywood Reporter, has consulted with the Scottish Parliament regarding humane training practices, and conducts seminars around the world for both owners and trainers. He was hired by Cesar Millan as an assistant trainer in 2013, released two critically acclaimed training DVD's, operates locations in Los Angeles and New Orleans, and has been the go-to trainer for such celebrities as LL Cool J, Bruno Mars, Teri Hatcher, Kristen Bauer van Stratten, and Super Bowl MVP Malcolm Smith to name a few. After working with thousands of dogs with leash aggression, dog aggression, human aggression, resource guarding, separation anxiety, and overall troublesome behavior, Sean saw some recurring themes consistently derailing the human/dog relationship. He began recording his observations and solutions in his blog, videos, and daily online posts. What Sean hadn't counted on was the fact that countless trainers and owners were struggling to not only understand these issues, but more importantly, to put clear, concise, easy-to-understand words to them.Sean discovered he had a gift for explaining these complex issues in a unique, and simple fashion; one that connected the elusive "dots', created those all-important "aha" moments, and enabled countless previously stuck dogs and owners to break through, find relief, and success. His first book, The Good Dog Way: Love Them By Leading Them, filled an incredibly important gap. Until its release, dog training books almost exclusively focused on training mechanics, commands, and rules, but had missed the all-important "why". Why were we struggling? Why were we making the same mistakes over and over? Why were our dogs a mess? Something big was indeed missing, and without this critical piece, thefoundational "why" underneath it all, even the best training and coaching practices were still struggling.Sean had stumbled onto something. Pouring several years into compiling, writing, and re-writing, he crafted a training book like no other. A book which clearly articulated how our human emotional tendencies, intellectual misconceptions, as well as a lack of understanding of our dog's true needs, were deeply sabotaging our best intentions. A book which offered simple, but profound answers for these struggles. In a strange, and unexpected turn of events, Love Them By Leading Them has become the go-to book for trainers around the world to hand out to THEIR clients! And if Sean, or anyone else needed any more proof that his book had struck a much-needed chord, this was it.Note: This book is based on a balanced approach and philosophy to dog training. It's focus is on practical, realistic, and most of all, effective training. If the idea of sharing consequences with your dog for poor or dangerous choices; or if using modern, effective and humane tools such as prong or e-collars is not in alignment with your beliefs, then this is likely not the right book for you.
