For Our Good and For His Glory: A Study of the Gifts in the Twelfth Chapter of Romans

Have you ever wondered why certain aspects of ministry come naturally to you — while others feel like a constant struggle?

The answer may be simpler than you think.

In For Our good and For His Glory, author and educator Alvina Jackson-Riddle takes readers on a meaningful journey through the seven motivational gifts described in Romans 12:6-8 — Prophecy, Service, Teaching, Exhortation, Giving, Leadership, and Mercy. With clarity, warmth, and pastoral insight, she helps believers understand not just what their gifts are, but how God designed those gifts to function — and why operating outside of that design leads to burnout, frustration, and unfulfillment.

This is not a book about doing more for God.

It is a book about discovering what God has already placed within you.

Each chapter explores one motivational gift in depth — unpacking its strengths, its common misalignments, and the healthy perspective that comes when identity is rooted in Christ rather than performance. Every chapter closes with a Selah Moment for personal reflection and a prayer prompt to invite the Holy Spirit into the process.

Whether you are new to ministry or have been serving for years, this book will bring clarity to your calling, peace to your serving, and purpose to your walk.

Its time to branch out — and walk fully in what God has placed within you.

For His Glory.
