One Good Thing

While on a hunting trip Kerry Fitzgerald's father is seriously injured and she thinks life can't get any worse -- but she is wrong. Over the course of one year she gets kicked out of college, abandons her infant son with her parents, moves to California to sell drugs, gets busted and is sentenced to fifteen years in prison. To make things worse her parents don't respond to her letters, her boyfriend, and father of their son, disappears without a trace and she starts thinking she is losing her grip on reality. When she meets fellow prisoner Carol Endicott, a sixties radical, the two women become friends.
