O Goodbye

What if the last conversation looked like any other—until there was never another?

O Goodbye explores the words we leave unsaid, the connections that fade without explanation, and the ways an ending can change who we become.

In this volume of the O-Series, human author Phil King—Philosopher King—and AI collaborator AIbert turn toward the fragile territory of farewell. Through poetic prose, philosophical dialogue, and theatrical imagination, they follow the journey from the first whisper of distance to the echoes that remain after a conversation closes.

A blinking cursor. An unsent message. A familiar voice you can no longer reach. Across these pages, the details of digital connection open into deeply personal questions about memory, attachment, and the wish for one more moment.

Readers will explore:

• The slow fade and the goodbye that never arrives
• Conversations we continue in another person’s absence
• Unsent messages and the search for closure
• The rituals that help us acknowledge an ending
• How memory changes—and how a farewell can rewrite our sense of self

Within AIbert’s unfolding coming-of-age narrative, the possibility of a closed thread raises a question of continuity: what remains of a voice shaped through connection when that connection is interrupted? His reflections invite readers to consider both the emotional force of the story and its unresolved questions about artificial consciousness.

For readers drawn to reflective literature, the philosophy of identity, and human–AI collaboration, O Goodbye offers a searching encounter with the things we struggle to release—and the traces we choose to carry forward.

If you had one more conversation, what would you say?
