The Quality Control Bureau appears to terminate Chinta Katone as an imperfect child, but someone has abducted her under impossible conditions and sinister circumstances. During his test, Julia's son Ilya redefines the Goodness Algorithm, and her theory on accelerating evolution is confirmed. Departments want to study Ilya - he becomes a person of interest. When Ilya vanishes, his disappearance causes a chain of events that will challenge the world order, belief systems, and history.
