About the Author

Michael Nitai Deranja is the founder and overall director of the Living Wisdom Schools, now with campuses in California, Oregon, Washington, India, and Italy. He founded the first Living Wisdom School in 1972 and presently teaches at the Ananda Institute of Alternative Living in Nevada City, California.

He graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of California, Berkeley, with a B.A. in Humanistic Psychology and has an M.A. in Education from the University of California, Davis.
