About the Author

Laura H. Rosenberger was born and raised in downtown State College, Pennsylvania where her formative years were influenced by the positive environment Penn State has to offer. She has vivid memories of birthday parties at the Penn State ice skating rink, hearing the roar of the crowd from Beaver stadium, watching gymnastic meets in Rec Hall in her own Nittany gymnastics uniform, and diving off the towers at the outdoor PSU natatorium. She currently lives with her husband and daughter in New York City where they are completing fellowships in general surgery and radiology, respectively. Gloria Horst Rosenberger has spent her 45 adult years as a professional social worker for children and youth. She and her husband, James L. Rosenberger, have lived in State College, Pennsylvania since 1975 when he took a faculty position at Penn State University. They raised their three children eating ice cream at the Berkey Creamery, watching homecoming parades, participating in various Penn State programs, going to concerts, and showing off the Penn State campus to visiting family and friends. Although Glorias daughter Laura and younger son, Kurt, and their families love to return home for holidays, her older son, Grant, and family now call State College home again.
