Gospel Players' Script Book: The Four Gospels and the Acts of the Apostles in Script (Take Your Part)

We are all called to imbibe, immerse ourselves in, and teach the Gospel because “The Gospel… is the power of God for salvation to everyone who has faith.” (Rom 1:16). Meeting with the Brothers of the Christian Schools on May 15, 2025, Pope Leo XIV stated:: "You are heirs to a great tradition of education rooted in the Gospel, a tradition that has transformed countless lives across the world,…. Do not be afraid to innovate, to open new paths for the good of the young, always guided by the light of Christ.."

Gospel Theater is innovative education rooted in the Gospel; it is the unabridged Ignatius Press RSV Second Catholic Edition (RSV-2CE) of the four Gospels and The Acts of the Apostles plus thirteen other Scripture chapters in character parts. These 128 Scripture chapters are correlated to the Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC) using the themes and citations from the Catechism. Most Catholic formation explains particular teachings with related Scriptural references; Gospel Theater is Sacred Scripture with related catechetical references.
“Faith comes from what is heard;" (Rom 10:17); ]when people read together and hear the words of Scripture in character parts they are led to incorporate them more deeply into their own hearts.

“All scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work” (2 Tm 3:16-17); it was to serve all these purposes that this book was compiled. “The Gospel… is the power of God for salvation to everyone who has faith” (Rom 1:16). We are all called to imbibe and teach the Gospel. This book makes possible a very active form of meditation for Bible study groups, families, and classes since it allows entrance into any or all Gospel scenes through reading or acting out the different character roles while delving more deeply into related catechetical themes.
