Gospel Truth Demonstrated, In A Collection Of Doctrinal Books, Given Forth By That Faithful Minister Of Jesus Christ, George Fox: Containing Principles Essential To Christianity And Salvation, Held Among The People Called Quakers by George Fox. A 17th-century Quaker doctrinal tract issued from Worcester Prison in 1674, this work advocates a Spirit-led Christian faith centered on the inner light of Christ within every believer. It critiques outward churches, rituals, and ecclesiastical hierarchy as shadows that fail to bind the body of Christ, insisting that Christ is the head and that the Spirit writes the law on hearts under the new covenant. The tract emphasizes unity, universal grace, and the discernment of truth by the Spirit, urging believers to test all things by the gospel and inner witness. It targets magistrates, clergy, and Jews, arguing for liberty of conscience, nonviolence, and a transformation of life over external forms. Scripturally saturated, it invokes Revelation imagery and asserts the sufficiency of Christ as mediator and head of the church.
