Goth Chibis: A Complete Course in Drawing Melancholy Manga Cuties

Draw moody, dark academia characters in the chibi art style with the simple step-by-step tutorials in Goth Chibis.

If you’re a fan of bold fashion statements such as crazy-colored and styled hair, dark makeup, and eccentric clothing, and you already adore the chibi drawing style, Goth Chibis is the next how-to-draw book for you. Popular anime artist Yoai is back to teach you how to draw small characters with big emotions. Whether you prefer drawing traditionally or digitally, all are welcome in this dark art class.

With an in-depth guide at the beginning, find tips and tricks on what materials to use, how to use digital tools, and how to draw the basics from bodies, facial expressions, hair, and clothing. The tutorials span from simple to advanced in each chapter and are meant to enhance your drawing skills whether that's sketching, adding details, or coloring. There are so many gothic details that go into creating these chibis just waiting for you to make them come alive on the page. Let the goth aesthetic spark fresh creativity as you learn how to draw 24 cute and moody characters, including:

• Elegant Rosemarie in a Victorian ball gown with an umbrella for both sunny and rainy days
• Adventurous Paisley with pink highlights and accessories like harnesses
• Moody Harriet and her Russian cat doll
• Inquisitive Quinn with his silver hair and dark academia fashion sense
• Dramatic Silas in full vampire character
• And more!

Become inspired to draw your favorite characters from popular culture—whether film, television, or books—and create stoically adorable characters. And when you're in the mood to just color or doodle, find coloring pages and an inspiration gallery at the back of the book to keep that creativity going.
