About this Item
An early Latin language dictionary. A scarce Latin language dictionary. The title refers to 'Steps to Parnassus', denoting a gradual leaning curve or progress in literature, language instruction or the arts in general, and is often applied to this sort of work, in which quantities of vowels are marked in the words, in order to help beginners to understand the principles of the language. In decorative half-calf binding with gilt detailing and paper-covered boards. Externally smart, there is some rubbing to the extremities and wear to the joints, as well as fading to back strip. Internally, the pages are firmly bound but are age toned and have handling marks and ink inscriptions throughout, including to the title pages and endpapers. There is also some instances of spotting. Good Only. Seller Inventory # FGN25-C-6
