Add to basketHarvard Univ Press 1937. Two volumes quarto, excellent in publisher's cloth and barely nicked dustwrappers; illustrated with some 2500 patterns. Harvard-Yenching Institute Monograph Series V. A pleasing pair. First and best edition. A practical copybook and one of the great efforts of collection if not classification; the first on Chinese lattice the author thinks since 1631. The result of twenty years collecting, Dye called an end to his work with the death of his draughtsman Mr Yang Chi-shang in January 1936. He does comment that though there must be more examples he hasn't found, some three hundred patterns collected since 1933 but not included in this book contain no basic variants. *This item might cost more to post than quoted by abe.
