From the Foreword: "This book is about a unique railroad operation that served the Lewiston [Maine] and Auburn area with a Mixed Train up until about forty years ago. A Mixed Train is a train that had both freight cars and passenger cars in the same train." "It is hoped that this book will bring back memories of taking the 'Mixed Train' from Lincoln Street in Lewiston, changing trains at Danville Junction, and travel on Train #17 to places in Canada to visit relatives.".
