1942. Reprint. 107pp, many colour illustrations by Margaret Tempest and a red illustration on the endpapers. Alison Uttley (1884-1976) was a famous British writer of children's books, best known for her 'Little Grey Rabbit' series. This book is the third in the series. The book is bound in the original white paper covered boards with blut titling on the spine and blue titling with a colour illustration on the front board. The case of the book is in very good condition with bumping to the spine ends and a small piece missing from the bottom of the spine. The spine is slightly cocked. The contents are tight and clean with a name written in pencil on the top edge of the front free endpaper. The unclipped dustwrapper has shelf wear with some soiling and staining and a name has been written near the top front corner. A piece measuring about 3/4" x 2" long is missing from the top front edge and up to about 1/2" is missing from the bottom of the spine. Small pieces are missing from the corner tips and bottom rear edge. There are several tears of about 3/4" on the edges and a small tear and hole hear the middle of the spine. Most of the tears have been repaired on the reverse with tape. Seller Inventory # gChild38
