Reviews: This collection offers some 200 recipes for baked goods both sweet and savory, with more than 800 color photographs. There are full-page pictures of many of the cookies, breads, pies, cakes, and tortes, and every recipe has at least two technique photos. A few choices, such as Sachertorte or Treacle Tart, seem somewhat out of place in an all-American baking book. It's also a bit surprising that strawberry shortcake does not merit a recipe of its own, but the step-by-step photographs alone are worth the price. For most baking collections.
