Mechelle (Shelle) McDermott was born and raised in Arizona. She graduated from Utah State University with a teaching degree. She has taught both high school and college. She is the author of "Finding Peace - When The Devil Visits" She is an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She has been an early morning seminary teacher and a Gospel Doctrine teacher. She is married to Reed and they have raised seven children.
