Reviews
This new compendium of ideas from libraries and friends groups from public, school, and academic libraries offers strategies and advocacy tips and is a sequel to 101+ Great Ideas for Libraries and Friends (2004). Chapters cover fund-raising, organizing book sales, programming for outreach, raising public awareness, and building membership in friends groups. Although the major audience will be libraries with friends groups, any library would benefit from the chapters on programs, advocacy, and awareness. The illustrations, tips lists, and advocacy workbook are helpful, while the positive tone encourages any reader. If you wish to enhance your friends’ projects or just develop library awareness, this is the tool to get you started. --Patricia Hogan
