About the Author
Cris Kohl, prize-winning underwater photographer and maritime historian with a Master of Arts degree in History (specializing in Maritime History), has written ten books, including the popular "The Great Lakes Diving Guide" and the two-volume, bestselling "The 100 Best Great Lakes Shipwrecks," about these uniquely preserved freshwater shipwrecks.
Known for his "intense research" and "powerful" narration," Cris Kohl has written over 250 magazine and newsletter articles. He has appeared on numerous television programs, including on the History Channel and on the Discovery Channel.
A Past President of the Underwater Archaeological Society of Chicago, he lives with his wife, writer, diver and historian Joan Forsberg, in Chicago.
