This Near Fine quality book starts with a Foreward and Introduction (with numerous black-and-white prints, which go through page 36; those two sections are followed by 58 color tipped-in images, each with a page of explanation. A visually beautiful book. It's 58 tipped-in color plates are arranged chronologically and each is given a full page to describe the specifics of the painting and to analyze that painter and that painting. It is quite informative. The book is bound in pale blue cloth with gilt lettering on the spine and a gilt oval with a blue "M" on the front panel; it is free of edge dings and corner bumps; head and heel of spine are undamaged, with all edges virtually free of wear; both boards are clean as is the spine. There is no fading. Except for original owner's name/date inked on the back side of the title page, the interior is completely free of writing, stray marks, stains of any sort and page damage of any type; it does have a minor manufacturing error--the front paste down has a ripple in it at the spine. The NF quality jacket is clean, free of tears, stains and fading. It has only light general shelf wear. Seller Inventory # BMR-2020-10-21-5
