About the Author

R. K. Gardener's neighbor taught her how to plant her first flower garden when she was in elementary school. Every summer she showed her how to plant zinnias, marigolds, touch-me-nots and roses. R. K. 's aunt gave her tips on planting flowers and seeds. Her parents and grandfather showed her how to set out vegetables, plant seeds, prepare the soil, and use the tools of the trade. R. K. cherished these teachings and wants to teach children the art of gardening. Green Thumbs For Kids Books and Activities Volumes 1-4 are designed for advanced, middle and secondary students; however, pre-k and kindergarten children can be taught gardening skills as well.
