About the Author

RONNYE PERRY SHARP was born and raised in Oklahoma and currently resides in Tecumseh. She is a past recipient of the Oklahoma Young Career Woman Award and former president of the Tecumseh Chamber of Commerce. She is also a past state BPW Legislative Chairman in Washington, D.C. She was a Regional Advertising Representative for McDonald's in Dallas, Texas, and has served as Director of Music for Broadway United Methodist Church for the past 25 years. Sharp has vast experience in advertising, marketing, and promotion of consumer and industrial goods. A regular contributor of recipes to Oklahoma newspapers, Sharp authored the highly popular "Oklahoma s Historical Centennial Cookbook" that helped celebrate Oklahoma's centennial in 2007. BOB BURKE has written more historical non-fiction books (115) than anyone else in history. He was born in Broken Bow, Oklahoma, and graduated with a journalism degree from the University of Oklahoma and a law degree from Oklahoma City University. He was director of what is now the Department of Commerce in the administration of Governor David Boren and managed Boren's first campaign for the U.S. Senate in 1978. Burke is the father of Robert, Amy, and Cody, stepfather of Natalie, Lauren, and Calli, and grandfather of Nathan, Jon, Ridge, Fallon, Greyson, Mia, and Emerson. He and his wife, Chimene, live in Oklahoma City where he practices law and writes books. Burke is a member of the Oklahoma Hall of Fame, the Oklahoma Journalism Hall of Fame, and the Oklahoma Historians Hall of Fame.
