xi, 177, [1] pp., illustrated, large 4to, cloth, gilt spine title, Grolier Club device in gilt on front cover. Catalogue of an exhibition of over 130 books, manuscripts, and works on paper from Grolier Club member collections. Each item includes a short essay from the owner/collector and is illustrated. This copy with a contemporary inscription on the half-title from bookseller T. Peter Kraus (of Ursus Books and a curator of this exhibition) to Ira A. Lipman, the notable philanthropist, bibliophile and founder of the private security firm, Guardsmark. Lipman’s extraordinary collection of Americana was dispersed at Sotheby’s in 2021 and realized $12.4 million. Designed by Jerry Kelly and printed at the Stamperia Valdonega in Verona. A fine copy with an excellent and substantive bibliophilic association.
