Harriet May Savitz was born in Newark, New Jersey. At age nine, Harriet wrote her first poem and, to the delight of thousands of readers, she hasn't put her pen down since.
Mrs. Savitz is a co-founder of the Philadelphia Children's Reading Round Table and the author of 21 books for young adults. She quickly became an award-winning author of this genre, with one of her books adapted by Henry Winkler Productions for an ABC After School Special.
Harriet is a contributing author for several of the bestselling "Chicken Soup" series.
