4to; pp. xviii, 518; decorated endpapers, 4 mounted coloured plates, 11 b/w. plates, 6 other illustrations, folding family tree, errata slip, sources, bibliography, index, original cloth, title lettered in gilt on spine, gilt decoration on front board, dustjacket fine copy in slipcase. . Limited edition of 1000 copies, this unsigned. The letters record the beginnings of the enterprise which grew to become Moran and Cato Pty. Ltd. and also give a picture of social life in New Zealand and Melbourne during the early 1880's.
