About the Author

****Dixie Johnson Grupe currently teaches AP World History at Hickman High School in Columbia, Missouri. She has an undergraduate degree in journalism and a Master's Degree in Social Studies Education from the University of Missouri. She has traveled to Japan, Ghana, Israel, Egypt, Ukraine as well as much of western Europe and has been a classroom teacher for 21 years. She was an AP World History Exam reader in 2002 and 2003 and served as a table leader and sample selector for the DBQ portion of the national exam in 2004 and 2005. ****Sigrid S. Reynolds received her AB in Anthropology from Duke University in 1974 and her BA in History from Coe College in 1994. She has been a social studies teacher at Washington High School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa for the last nine years where she developed the AP World History course and served on the district social studies curriculum committee as well as the textbook selection committee. More recently, she has taught AP US History and AP World History. Sigrid was a Reader of the first AP World Exam in 2002 and has been a Table Leader for the last two years. She has attended many AP Conferences and has written multiple choice questions for the Educational Testing Service in Princeton, New Jersey. She is a member of the National Council of Social Studies and the World History Association.
