October, 1982: While setting up an oil well location in the mountains of West Virginia, an oil field worker aboard a roaring bulldozer unearths a most bizarre find --- a large turtle-shaped creature from outer space.

The arcane discovery touches James Herbert Edwards causing a strange physical effect on him, buzzing him with an otherworldly sensation that closely resembles the shock of an electric current--- and leaving him with new special physical and mental abilities.

Edwards is suddenly able to perform complicated Calculus while at the same time write the Gettysburg address with his left hand. And he's right-handed.

Several months later, Edwards crosses paths with extraterrestrial life forms again. Only this time one faction wants him dead, another faction wants his help while a third faction anoint him "Star Guardian" of the Alliance...an interstellar coalition of planets from the Milky Way and surrounding galaxies, formed to maintain peace and order in the known universe.

James Herbert Edwards was born March 19th, 1949 in upstate New York. He graduated from Scotia Glenville High School, in Scotia, New York, and West Virginia University, in Morgantown, West Virginia.

Jim played football in high school and in college as well as holding a 3.2 g.p.a. with studies in Chemistry and Mathematics. When Jim graduated he went into the oil and gas business and eventually started his own company.

He married his college sweetheart, Joan Cooper, and they have one child, a daughter named Tecoyakee. They currently live outside the country on a private island.
