A Guerrilla Guide To Avoiding Sexual Violence: Stop Sexual Assault, Abuse and Predation In Your Life (Guerrilla Self-Protection)

Avoiding sexual violence for young girls, boys, maturing women, and adult women (and yes, even men) is a critical life skill. It should be taught as part of their regular everyday schooling—with the same value as mathematics.

This book includes anonymous true accounts of sexual violence, abuse, and predation that demonstrate the principles and strategies you need to learn and understand.

As with my other self-protection book, it is written in a bit of a workbook style to engage you as the reader on your own discoveries, and expressions, and to help you identify the pieces you need in order to avoid sexual violence on your own journey and in your own terms.

When you have finished this book, read it again, and then give it to someone else to read. Gift it to a father who has daughters or a mom with girls about to enter college or pass it to your neighbor. Help someone find this material within your sphere of influence.

So much of what is written in the self-defense world is about the physical nature of violence, and of that, more has to do with the way men handle violence rather than addressing the needs of women in a realistic and thoughtful way.

The reality is that the majority of us are far further ahead to avoid what we can, and far more likely to use mental and emotional intelligence than we are to ever grace a physical self-defense class with our presence. And if I was completely honest, that is most often the better approach. It’ll help to keep you from becoming distracted by all of the noise that exists out there which is often filled with well-intentioned but bad advice and methodology. In this book, I cut through the noise and use shortcuts to learning so you get the information in a way that is easy to learn, maintain, and implement.

Understand that your needs will change as your life changes. And the risks you face will change as well.
