Wrappers very slightly rubbed. Near-fine condition. Bilingual text: Afrikaans on the left and English on the right of each page. "This guide covers the eastern part of the Zuid-Afrikaansche Republic or Transvaal Republic as it was during the war. The area stretches from Babanango in the south to Pilgrims' Rest in the north. This is the area in which General Louis Botha, Commandant-General of the Transvaal, operated. North of the Oosterlijn he was assisted by General Ben Viljoen and after Viljoen was taken prisoner of war General Chris Muller was in charge. This is also the area where the Transvaal Government was stationed at the beginning of June 1900. After September 1900 they were constantly on the move in this area. Newcastle was included, since the Boers occupied the town on 14 October 1899 and renamed it Viljoensdorp. Thus, technically the town became part of the ZAR. Charlestown has been similarly included. We attempted to the best of our ability to locate all Anglo Boer War related graves as well as all cemetaries, battlefield sites, concentration camp sites, monuments, memorials, buildings, fortifications, blockhouses and trenches related to the Anglo Boer War.".…
