Edition Troisième, Revue, Corrigée & Augmentée par l'Auteur, The Third Edition Revised, Corrected, Improved and brought down to the present Time, Chez l'Imprimerie de H. Kent, E. Comyns, Jo. Scarce and very interesting bilingual guide, French and English. In addition to describing the main places and monuments of London and Westminster, the work also describes public walks and entertainment. Apart from these 2 towns, it describes a number of surrounding towns such as Chelsea, Kensington, Greenwich, Windsor, Oxford, Cambridge, Bath, the Newmarket horse races, etc. The guide also provides the price of cabs and carriages for hire in the eighteenth century. The author Joseph Pote ( 1703-1787) from Eton was an editor and bookseller. Eton boys wrote a couplet about him : "Jos. Pote, a man of great renown, Buys a book for sixpence and sells it for a crown" ! Very satisfactory condition (binding a little rubbed with small lack on the spine and covers, good condition otherwise). Langue: Français. Seller Inventory # 64256
