Friedländer. :: Bound in publisher's maroon cloth, boards are decoratively blind-stamped at the top and bottom. Spine bears title, author, translator, and publisher in gilt, and gilt continuation of decorative theme. Top edge of textblock gray (faded). Octavo (8 3/4 x 5 3/4 inches; 222 x 146 millimeters). 414 pages. Condition: Fair. Book is holding together, but is quite worn. Binding is shaken. Boards are stained, edges and hinges are rubbed, cloth has broken at the crown and foot of spine. Paste-down bears prior owner's bookplate, and personal library stamp upon title page. Endpapers shadow-toned and foxed. Pages age-toned. Split at the gutter in several places: 2-3, 30-31 (loose page), 126-127, 158-159, 188-189, 314-315, 378-379. Upper corner of 371-372 creased, Index page torn. These are the most notable flaws, please pardon the list is not exhaustive. Book is thoroughly worn.
