A Guide to Raising a Rottweiler (Paperback)

Paperback. This guide was written with a specific Rottweiler owner in mind: not the person who wants a status symbol or an intimidating presence, but the person who is genuinely drawn to this breed for what it actually is. The working heritage, the intelligence, the steady nerve, the depth of loyalty, and the particular, moving quality of a Rottweiler's devotion to the people they love. Those people, in our experience, tend to become among the most dedicated, most knowledgeable, and most passionate dog owners in existence. They research thoroughly. They train consistently. They advocate fiercely for a breed that is too often misunderstood. And they grieve deeply when the time comes, because the depth of a Rottweiler's love inspires exactly that depth of return. If that is you, or if you are working to become that person, then everything in this guide was written for you.We hope it helps you build the relationship this remarkable breed deserves, and that the Rottweiler waiting for you on the other side of all this preparation gives you everything this breed at its best is genuinely capable of giving. Which is, as anyone who has truly loved one will tell you, quite a lot more than you might have imagined possible. The lean against your leg is waiting. Go give it something worth leaning toward.
