18.8x11.5 cm. Original illustrated wrappers, mildly soiled, crude tape reinforcement to spine. One leaf (pp.45-46) has a 4x5 cm. square cut out of the middle of the leaf, with loss of some text to descriptions of points of interest in Nassau County, Florida and to the ad on the verso of the leaf. 70 pp., uncolored folding map. The map shows from Savannah to Lake Okeechobee, and highlights rail lines running from Savannah to Bainbridge, Georgia, and lines from Jacksonville to Tallahassee, St. Marks, and Cedar Key. There is also a very short line (the St. John's Railroad) from St. Augustine to Tocoi, a now-abandoned ferry landing on the St. John's River. Many ads for businesses and descriptions of points of interest in southern Georgia and northern Florida. In spite of the issues with its condition, this is an extremely rare guide book to a rural area of the South, just 10 years after the end of the Civil War. OCLC 946782587 (1 loc., U.of Texas).
