Guided Cure

Guided Cure is a story about how, like a train wreck, cancer disrupts the lives of families. Once the shock of the diagnosis wanes, you design a game plan to win the fight of your life. But once you begin to thrive and then survive, the healing never ends. You are compelled to share. Once you know the truth about cancer, you cannot unlearn it. This year, according to the National Institutes of Health, almost 600,000 Americans are expected to die of cancer. That’s more than 1,600 people a day! This book is about one of the least glamorous cancers and the third most common: colorectal cancer. Every year, 130,000 people are diagnosed with this death sentence. One in 20 people experience it, and 50,000 will die from it this year. For me, Guided Cure is an authentic and straight forward story of my bout with cancer, including all the twists and turns, heartaches, and joys. It’s about being strong-willed and questioning “standard of care” medicine. Thankfully, I was led into the saving hands of alternative/complementary and natural practitioners. The book tells how I overcame my fears with help from my faith, my family, a few friends, and unconventional treatments. Once I let go of control and handed the fear and anxiety over to God, things started to fall into place. People I knew and people I’d never met before were put directly in my path. All of them were willing to work with the intent and belief that I would be able to heal naturally. Just about everyone has been affected by cancer. We all have a family member or two who have received a cancer diagnosis. My husband and I are no strangers to teamwork. We formed our first team in 1991 in the real estate industry. We were in the fitness industry for 10 years and now publish a local community magazine. Our combined strengths as a team always equaled success, and it was no different when we attacked the cancer that invaded my body.
