Gulliver's Travels

The classic adventure tale issued here as one of a lovely series of classic books for young readers illustrated by famous artists of the day, each with a colorful paper pastedown to the front board. The artist here is Louis Rhead, who contributed a full-color frontispiece & over 100 internal pen-and-ink illustrations throughout the 376 pages of text. First published in this format in 1913 (First, thus; this is a later printing (May 1923). Hardcover has black matte cloth-covered boards with a colorful front paper pastedown (partially torn with loss to spine-side edge). Condition is Good+: very clean, sewn binding secure, hinges intact. Pages modestly tanned, but unmarked. Former owner created their own card pocket & pasted it inside back cover. Rubbing to extremities, fraying, & rubbed area at base of spine.
