Endpapers are a little marked; text block is age toned but clean and legible. Drawings in the text and two sets of photographic black and white reproductions. Book and jacket are both very good. Jacket is unclipped at 15/- or 75p and artwork is by Jozef Gross. This edition is an expanded edition of the first. Boothroyd became well known after his 'advice' to Ian Fleming following the publication of Casino Royale. In 1956 Ian Fleming received a politely critical letter from a firearms hobbyist and expert named Geoffrey Boothroyd. It was Mr Boothroyd s assertion that after reading Casino Royale, James Bond was equipped with an inferior firearm to that which would suit the world s foremost spy. Fleming replied to enthusiastically accept the recommendations which he used in subsequent 'memoirs' of James Bond.
