Marc Olivent’s illustrations and Jim McCarthy’s words perfectly capture the dangerous spirit of Axl Rose, the most memorable Guns N’ Roses lineup, and group changes over its three-decade career. It is a story of excess and chaos: the feud between Rose and Kurt Cobain, riots during concerts, the most expensive album ever made, the bitter departure of Slash, the drugs, the groupies, and of course, the music. Only a graphic novel could do justice to the epic story of Guns N’ Roses.
