He has painted portraits of distinguished personalities like the former Ruler of Oman, Sultan Qaboos, former Prime Minister of India Mrs. Indira Gandhi, U.S. Republican Senator Mr. Peter Inverso of New Jersey, U.S.A., Industrialist, Late Mr. Shriyans Prasad Jain connected with The Times of India Group of Companies, Swami Chinmayanand for Chinmaya Mission of New Jersey, U.S.A., Swami Vivekanand for Vivekanand Center, Kanyakumari, South India. Pt. Rane has also held exhibitions of his paintings at Convention Center, Calgary, Canada, Nehru Art Gallery, Bombay and Shanmukhanand Cultural Center, Bombay. He has donated his oil Portraits Hindustani Classical Musicians to well-known Institutions in India like Bombay University, Poona University, Benares Hindu University, Varanasi, and Maharaj Sayajiraw University, Baroda, so also to Film & Television Institute of India, Poona.
