About the Author: Laura d’Angelo, MD is a graduate of the University of North Carolina School of Medicine and Barnard College. She has been on the faculties at Vanderbilt University and Oregon Health Sciences University where she served as a state-wide consultant for Oregon’s Department of Human Services. She currently practices psychiatry in rural Tennessee.
