An edition in Very Good- condition with soiling, fading around the edges and general toning from age in an alike dust-jacket that is scuffed and worn around the creases; H. L. Mencken was an American journalist, essayist, and satirist. He was a noted critic of American culture and political institutions. Mencken wrote extensively for the Baltimore Sun, the Evening Sun, and the Baltimore American, as well as for the Smart Set and the New York Evening Mail. A Portrait from Memory, his autobiography, was published in 1949.; 8vo; 240 pages.
