Original red two ring binder with alphabetical dividers containing names and addresses of those being invited to a society wedding, probably that of James Donald Charteris, 13th Earl of Wemyss and the Hon. Catherine Ingrid Guinness which took place in July 1983. Henrietta and Katharine Benson and Daphne Guinness were among the bridesmaids. The guest list includes Guinness's galore, royalty and aristocrats as well as politicians and famous musicians, film directors, artists, publishers, photographers, tennis players, fashion designers and editors, and authors and playwrights (all with addresses) such as, Andy Warhol, David Hockney, Mick Jagger and Jerry Hall, Charlie Watts, John McEnroe, Vitas Gerulaitis, Robert Mapplethorpe, Bruce Chatwin, Ossie Clark, Hardy Amies, Martin Amis, Harold and Lady Antonia Pinter, Martin Scorcese, Anna Wintour, Diana Vreeland, Edward Heath, Sir Geoffrey and Lady Howe, Lord Weidenfeld, Sir Roy and Lady Strong, Diana Mosley, David Dimbleby, Sir Harold Acton, Sir George and Lady Solti, Mr and Mrs Charles Spencer, Earl and Countess Spencer, Princess Margaret and Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother to name but a few. Catherine Guinness (born 1952) was personal assistant to Andy Warhol. She married firstly James Donald Charteris, the marriage was subsequently dissolved in 1988 and secondly Robert Fleetwood Hesketh (1956-2004). James Donald Charteris, also known as Jamie Neidpath (born 1948) remarried in 1995. Several pages loose, covers a little marked, otherwise very good. Light wear otherwise very good.
