HIDDEN SCROLLS THE MYSTERY OF THE ANCIEN

Calling all explorers of God’s great stories! Join Peter, Mary, and their dog, Hank, in a new series of adventures from M. J. Thomas, author of the beloved The Secret of the Hidden Scrolls series (over 1 million copies sold!), as they follow an ancient map to travel back in time to key moments in Biblical history.

Through fast-paced and edge-of-your-seat action, The Mystery of the Ancient Map books teach children Biblical literacy and how to understand and appreciate God and his word through stories of the Bible. The Epic Battle is the third book in the new Mystery of the Ancient Map series that expands the world of The Secret of the Hidden Scrolls, but it can be thoroughly enjoyed by readers not familiar with Peter, Mary, and Hank’s previous adventures.

When Peter, Mary, and Hank investigate another red X on their ancient map, their search takes them to Mt. Tabor where a scroll whisks them back in time to meet the prophet Deborah who is preparing the Israelites for battle against the Canaanites. It’s a battle of epic proportions as Deborah rallies her army, and the kids and their trusty dog are swept up in the action even as they try to solve the secret of the scroll. Meanwhile, in the present day, it seems like someone is trying to sabotage Great-Uncle Solomon’s museum exhibit and maybe even steal the ancient map. Who is the mysterious figure known only as The Collector, and can the kids uncover their identity before it’s too late?

The Epic Battle:

• Follows the events of Judges: 4-5.
• Reminds readers that, like Deborah, they can trust God to lead them to victory.
• Is the third book in a chapter book series perfect for emerging readers ages 6-9.
• Includes illustrations throughout, bringing all the action and adventure to life.
• Is a great gift for readers who love The Magic Tree House and I Survived series.
