This copy SIGNED by the author, with date and place (St. Jean), on the title-page. "Le Manoir St. Jean, I.O." blindstamp to title-page, and ink notation regarding "Mauvide-Genest Manorial House" on front endpaper. Covers rubbed and frayed at extremities; a little toned, soiled. Otherwise clean, tight and unmarked. Very neat. Illustrated. Tourist information section at rear. 224+18[ads.]pp. The author, a Superior Court Justice and descendant of one of the resident families, took ownership and began restorations of Mauvide-Genest in 1926.
