Ex-library copy with the usual stamps/stickers. Both front and rear free end page have been removed, leaving mild cracks at the hinges. However, binding remains secure throughout. Backstrip is sunned and starting to come loose with splits along the hinges; damage to the top and the base. Binding weak, separating along the internal guttters with the webbing showing in places. Black endpapers, separated along gutters and frayed to edges. Front endpapers and frontispiece detached but intact. Ownership name and address to recto of frontispiece; this leaf has a large stain to outer edge. Tissue guard. Ownership signature to title page. 578pp., foldout map, b/w illustrations.
