Tall 8vo, approximately 240 x 160 mm, 9¾ x 6½ inches, 3 hand coloured portraits and 1 black and white engraving of the Throne of the late Tippoo Sultaun, pages: vi, 1-388, 4 extra pages 253-256 marked with an asterisk, no duplication of text and 4 extra leaves in the Appendix, unnumbered between pages 376 & 377, making a total of 400 pages, bound in full Victorian morocco, gilt lettering and decoration to spine and gilt decoration to covers, marbled endpapers, narrow gilt dentelles, all edges gilt. Binding rubbed and rebacked using original spine, shelf wear to edges of covers, thin black stain to lower cover, top margin of title page repaired with the loss of one word "THE", pale stains and spotting to Hyder Shah colour plate and pale offset to facing text page, thin pale stain to outer edge of the colour plate of Tippoo Sultaun and final 2 leaves, minor foxing to endpapers front and rear and first few pages, pale browning to pages 136-137, all text legible and small brown stain to the inner margins of pages 268-269, not affecting text, otherwise a very good copy.
