Reprint (first published 1941). i-xii, 13-175 pages plus unpaged 14 leaf (28 page) b/w plate section. Hardcover: H 25.75cm x L 18.25cm. Dust jacket rubbed; soiling and a few stains to white rear panel; tears and creasing as well as some small losses at edges; front flap's bottom corner is price-clipped; dj now presented in a mylar Brodart protector. Dark aquamarine cloth; gilt and black stamping to spine and front board remains bright; slight scuffing and bumping at spine ends and board corners. Light staining at fore-edge heel. Past owner's ink inscription on front pastedown hidden underneath dj's front flap; bottom corner of pages 151-152 creased from past fold-in; interior pages are clean. Binding is firm. Else a very good+ copy in a very good- dust jacket. Concluding section of 28 b/w plates feature images by photographer Noble Bretzman. {RegAm-Shelf#4}.
