From the Foreword: Some of the material used by Mr. Gibson in trie following pages was given to me by Houdini for publication before bis untimely death in 1926, and more was found and sent to me by Mrs. Houdini in later years. Mr. Gibson had a plethora of material thrust upon him and the very difficult task of selecting only enough items to keep this volume within reasonable bounds. The favorable comment on his earlier work, "Houdini's Escapes," in connection witb which he encountered the same difficulty, furnisbes confidence that "Houdini's Magic" will please the reading public. As in the earlier work, illusions and effects, now used by professional magicians, are not exposed because of the Canons of Ethics and Standards of The Society of American Magicians, of which the author is a member. With the co-operation of Mrs. Beatrice Houdini, I turned over to Mr. Gibson note books and memoranda, largely in Houdini's own handwriting, which seemed to contain new and original ideas, or new and original methods of presenting old time . . . 313 pages.
