Building vignette to front wrapper. 16mo. 6-3/8" x 4" 'Hunted Down' first appeared in 1859, in the NY Ledger, written by Dickens for the princely sum of £1000 as offered by the newspaper's publisher, Robert Bonner. This the first separate UK publication. 'Hunted Down' the 4th Queen's Quorum title [1860]. Bookplate. Minor wear. A VG+ copy. Early 20th C. red full sheep (color touch-up along joints); gilt spine lettering. Marbled eps. Original green wrappers bound in (front wrapper with paper repair to vertical crack along gutter) 1st UK book edition (Eckel, p. 199). Circa 1870.
